AES NYC : any rumors?

Never too early to start. I'm going this year after a long hiatus.
Anybody have some insight to some new stuff coming our way?
Speculation?

Yeay API! Boo Waves!

RE: AES: I'm excited to see the API board in person!

Perhaps a bit OT: Wow. That Waves crackdown thing is incredible on so many levels. I just read it. I had no idea that was real. Those people never cease to amaze me. That was like reading an Onion article, except it was real...

I have never used cracked software in my life --- frankly, I'm not computer-savvy enough to know how to do it even if I wanted to --- and I have a ton of paid-for software (and the requisite copy protection headaches of multiple dongles, hard-drive watermarks, registration codes, passwords, etc.). I'm amazed that professional studios would be so tacky as to use cracked software in a professional environment. Shows you how naive I am that I find this shocking.

All this being said, I wonder what the next step is? Secret police that kick down your door, throw a black hood over your head and drag you away during dead of night to interrogate you in a room with one over-bright swinging lightbulb? And if they don't like your answers, you are never seen or heard from again?...

Wow, SSL will have a few "bits". LOL. Love it.

I'm going to make a prediction that Digidesign will bring us something new in hardware world - something we really aren't expecting....

How about a new console/control surface: take the AWS900, strip out all the mic pre's and Auxes... make it control everything, add an E channel(or 2) and a 5.1 comp, and built in 2 X Duende. Input metering, kick a$$ monitor section, comms and transport. $25K.
Perfect. I'll take two right now.

Digidesign will be showing a new control surface. That's all I can say.

What phucking amazes me is all the other manufacture's WHO ARE JUST SLEEPING and cant give us a professional surface for Nuendo users or Logic users or Sonar users. Yamaha and Steinberg are SLEEEPING!!!!!!!

And no the Mackie control is not professional and the Euphonix is way too expensive and not worth it.

Anyway, here is to Digidesign do it again. And people wonder why they own the audio market!

See ya at the show!!!!

I'll be at the SSL booth showing off version 2 of the AudioLot CRC furniture. We'll also be showing the new AudioLot Mixbay 192 pt. patchbay that some of our fellow gearslutz now have in their hands.

WK Audio ID sits nicely between the Mackie control and Euphonix.

Don't suppose it's aimed at the integrated audio post-production sector?

sure looks like Digi are planning on speaking out at IBC.

Plan your audio future with Digidesign at IBC 2007

Well, it seems that Digi are perpetually upgrading the video capabilities of HD.I've been using a Mojo with HD for 3 years now, and it's STILL not the point where you can just open an AVID video OMF and play it. Audio OMFs, fine. And Mojo still doesn't work on an Intel Mac.

The new control surface from Digi isn't coming until AES.

I probably won't be at the SSL booth (the trip turns out more expensive then expected...), but at least I know what bits they'll be showing heh

Anyone heard any rumours on the digi controller?

Hopefully its a control 24 replacement. 24 channels, large scribble strips, totally stripped down and rock solid.
