d8b and Nuendo , How Does It Works ?

I have been working with a console Mackie D8B. Recently , I have acquired a Nuendo v3. I had read that it was a 100 % compatible system but I don´t get that it works.
with a search in forum in a post say : That with HUI mode i can only work with 8 channels ; does this correct ? .
Then, How I have to work with 24 channels ?
which is the control for the Nuendo, Mackie Control, 9 Pins, etc I dont Know ?
and in the Mackie, What I have to Write ? who is slave ? who is master ?
i am sorry, too much dude but i can continue with my work. a newbye

Equipment :
Mackie D8B updated to v5.1
Nuendo 3.
RME 9652 HDSP Card in a PC.
Midi Cable from mackie CPU to RME card.

Technology is frustrating...

I'm having this problem too. I've found a website that has a Nuendo .xml file and a d8b .map file that is supposed to let you use the d8b transport controls:

Mackie Forums Home: DATABASE:

Unfortunately, I don't know how to configure the .xml file into Nuendo AND I can't install the .map file in my d8b because the floppy drive always says "Please insert a PC formatted disc" and ftp isn't working on it for some reason. (Yes, I've checked my IP address, masking, etc., and yes I'm using a crossover CAT5 cable for peer to peer networking)

Wouldn't it be nice to just worry about the music? It's almost enough to make me break down and buy a Pro Tools HD rig. lol
