Soundtoys Soundblender for VST--- petition!!!

What a great plugin!!http://www.soundtoys.com/products/SoundBlender/

Something that emulates the classic eventide h3000 and does it justice.

The only problem is currently they only make a TDM version.
They have informed me that if they get enough emails asking for a VST version they will do it.
So lets do it!!! everyone who wants to see a vst version please click on the link below and let them know!

+1thumbsup

I can`t believe, how some brands can release plugins only for one system.
They just don`t get it, that sooner or later, there will be other companies to fill the customers request.
(SoundToys still didn`t release the SoundBlender VST.)

i just got reply from mitch thomas / soundtoys customer support.

There are no plans at this time for a native version of SoundBlender.

i hope they'll change their opinion if there is enough demand...

that's weird, i just read an article today about them and that they're in the process of transferring the code from DSP.

it also stated that they would be improving the sound quality and i think also they would be making them easier to use...something like that anyways.

OK, just to clarify here at the source. To those who think we're holding SoundBlender TDM hostage, we're not. SoundBlender was coded 9 years ago when we were exclusive to TDM only, that 's why it's there now. The code is very old and going back into it would be a full rewrite from scratch and put a year or more of at least one of our designers on nothing but. We don't have a lot of guys writing this code so pulling that resource would close several other projects. If porting it was easy, it'd be done. Really. Why wouldn't we??

The article about porting the code said we're porting parts of the code from some of our legacy plug-ins. We've had someone working on one part we really want from that old code. It's been over a year and it's still not fully ported if that gives you an idea of the work involved. Really, I'm not a coder so I get your side, but I speak to these guys and know there's way more involved than just saying 1 + 1 and whammo it's native. You can point at other companies and say "They did it", but where did they start? Old code is hard. It's kind f like saying "OK, go back to Gone with the Wind and insert a few sentences to make it a comedy" (Hey, I might read that) I pity the person who has to do it. Anyway, I hope you get my picture. Our new plugs were all created on a format that ports easy so no problem. All new plug-ins will be native (Well, unless we decide there's one that needs to be something else for some exclusive hardware piece)

The long and short of it is we are working very hard to bring our plugs to all the major platforms (VST next month, as long as all goes smoothly), and to bring you some cool new toys as well. There's still a possibility that in the future we will create a plug-in that brings much, all, or more power than SoundBlender, but it looks extremely unlikely that we will bring SoundBlender over like it is.

Hope that helps clear this up and answers a few questions. We're prepping for AES so we may not be here too often. You can e-mail me though. My e-mail is very simple. First name at our company and the old .com

Thanks,
Mitch Thomas

As long as all goes well, VST for both Mac and PC for the SoundToys Native Effects bundle in October. We are bug zapping and tweaking now.

your stuff rocks and it's been a while since a new 'toy' from you so looking forward to it.

i know it's going to be interesting and unique rather than an emulation of this or that

thumbs up for good work

That would be sweet. I think they had Roland VF3 version that sounded amazing. If I remember correctly.
