How should I connect my UA Solo 610???

Hello

I have Digi002R, OctoPre LE w/ADAT Card and a UA Solo610.
My question is how should I connect the UA Solo?

UA Solo -> Digi002R's line in?
UA Solo -> OctoPre LE Line in (through ADAT)-> Digi002R?

I'm thinking if I connect through my octopre and send the signal through ADAT to my Digi002R. Would I get better results with those converters?

If I connect this way, would the OctoPre "colour" the sound of my UA Solo?

Thanks!

Try it both ways. Then trust your ears. If you can't hear the difference then flip a coin.

chances are if you line-in to your octopre it'll bypass the preamps and go to it's converters...so no color would be imparted on the sound.

no clue which piece has the better converters....

perhaps there are some old threads around here to help? If the octopre does have better converters then go for it....going over adat to your digi002R wouldn't make a difference at all at that point.

line in to the octopre doesn't bypass the gain stage, so yes, it will color the sound (could be good, could be bad). The converters are about the same between the two, my choice would be to go into a line in on the 002 on channels 5-8, these are straight up line inputs.
