MC77 Plugin. Is this thing a dog?

I'm looking for a good 1176 emulation for on-the-go mixes. The UAD 1176 is pretty good, but it lives on the UAD-1 card at the project studio. The BF76 is a no-brainer, but leaves something to be desired.

The hardware is great, but I'm not loving this MC77 emulation. It just never seems to do what I expect it to. It reacts nothing like a real 1176 or MC77 to my ears.

Perhaps I'm being too critical and need to give it another shot. Any votes of confidence out there?

The only thing I liked it for was the all buttons in mode on drum room mics. Sounded better than the BF version to me for this sound.

The MC77 does some extreme settings well, BUT my version of it has a bug that makes you have to reposition the release knob when you change the ratio settings. If I don't do this, it sets the release to the longest time (without moving the virtual knob). Until I figured this out though, I was confused...

I thought it was slightly better than the BF76, like a Pacer is better than a Yugo.

Glad I didn't get the MC77 plug. I was about to get it because the BF76 sucks so bad. What a piece of junk. I guess I'm just used to the UAD-1 version.
