Does anybody have any knowledge of this rare ssl 48 input, 8 output line mixer thats on sale on ebay by the Deskdoctor. The url is below.
SSL 48 Channel Rack-Mount Mixer on eBay Mixers, Pro Audio, Musical Instruments
It sounds very interesting and before I lay my money out I was wondering if anybody could shed any light on this piece of gear.
Many Thanks

You may want to check it out in person.
I'm not a fan of sellers with the big fat doughnut next to their screen name.

forget the 0 next to the sellers name.
Desk Doctor is a reputable company that buys used SSL's, cleans them, and resells them.

This mixer is possibly from Signet Sound in Hollywood. If not, then they had a similar unit. It has been years since I used it. i believe it combined multiple 5.1 stems to a common output. It might have done a fold down to stereo as well. I remember it being fairly clean, but not invisible.

What do you want to use it for?
