POP Filters

Would a Stedman or something similar make a difference? right now i have some nylon pop filter i got from sam ash and i hear it way to much when recording vox(not as clear, darker etc.) i would record with out it but i'm worried about saliva corroding the capsule of the mic, rappers tend to spit a whole lot and not to mention the dreaded P's and B's. So is the stedman a more transparent solution?

I now have 3 Stedman pop screens.

They are great, and also much smaller than the nylon ones. Easier to read the lyrics on the music stand while singing into the mics.

IMO, they do not color the voice the way nylon screens do.

And, the digital ones are Mac OSX compatable.

In classic mode though.

I'll second the Stedmans. Better turbulent consonant supression and more open sound. And MUCH simpler to clean.

Just dip it in the toilet and flush.

Important to have them close to lips and a little further from mic.

Best I've found are the metal ones from Royer.
They do a great job and are easy to clean!

Royer and Stedman are one in the same. Just a different name. I agree with all that is said - however - I really dislike the short, inflexible, gooseneck. It has way to much memory in it and when I try to position it in front of the mic - it likes to sway back where it was comfortable. But it does sound clearer than the nylon I had.
