Storage of instruments?

Hi all,
In general, not for long term storage, what’s the best way to store guitars, banjos, violins, etc?
Wall mount? Floor stand? Hard case? soft case?thanks much.

For daily use instruments I have them hanging on the walls. For once a week/month I leave them in the case. I have a climate controlled room for everything. In North Carolina we get temperature and humidity swings - so one has to be very careful.

I keep mine in their cases, stored vertically along one of the studio walls. Long term storage is with string tension loosened. The ones I use regularly stay tuned.

I assume we're not talking about everyday players, yeah? (You did say 'storage', so...)

In the case, strings loosened, silica pack for good measure.

I have 2 go to acoustic guitars that I play nearly everyday.
Other guitars are in cases. Some are on wall hangers which I rarely use. Thanks again.ob1

40 to 60% humidity is a reasonable range. However, make sure you're not going above or below. Without humidity control, that can be hard to do.

50% is pretty much ideal if you can maintain it.
