8 channel hardware EQ - sugggestions?

Title says it all really - does anyone know of a good quality 8 channel EQ? Preferably 4 band with 2 swept mids? I know, I know - a mixing desk.... but that's what I definitely don't want.

Thanks!

the speck is a nice affordable unit, thanks vince for letting me test it in the past.

you also can have a look on some broadcast modules from telefunken, siemens, neumann, ANT, TAB, Filtek etc...you can build fastly a rack full of coloured and nice eq's.

www.Vintage City.de or ebay.com to search those.

btw, there is a glensound / bbc rack on ebay.com with 6 eq`s and 2 compressors/limters , do a search on it.

bye ches

you could get 4 GML 8200's

...or 8 Portico 5033's

...or 4 Rane PEQ-55's

It looks like Oram makes an octa-EQ that might be your cup of tea as well.

I'd look at the Raindirk rack,

Rackmounted

If it were me though I'd probably get an Amek BC2, pretty good EQ from what I remember from a friend that had one.

I've seen a 12 channel go for £600 ($1200) £50 ($100) a channel can't be bad

what about 8 channels of calrec eqs? pq1253 or other modules? But since this will take 4 rack spaces, why not choose just 4X 1ru stereo eqs?
Anyway the calrec I have sounds wonderful

regards,
bram

Get an API rack and fill it up with API 550's, Avedis E27's, A Designs PEQ's, and Daking EQ's. Mix and match.

Since Tony sells all this stuff you might be inclined to take this advice with a grain of salt, but I am not in the gear sales business and this is exactly what I would recommend (except I have not tried the Dakings yet)

Yes, I have had the 500 series prototypes in my studio... That is all I can say.

They should be going into full production any day.

Speck also used to make a 16 channel rackmount EQ :

I've seen a few available used from time to time. Looks interesting!

Anyway, back OT. Reid, I see a API 500 rack in your future! That or a Tonelux VRack, I hear great things about Paul's EQs.
