I strive for a minimalist, empty studio … just because I'm absent minded if I'm not organized, but I'm more creative when I'm messy. OCD sucks.

Those things on the right must be bus compressors.

You can be cozy and not messy.

I have had many clients come to me after visiting some big local studios that they characterized as “sterile”.

I personally know that their live rooms sound exquisite! But the clients wanted something more comfortable. You can see pics of my place on my IG citizenrecording

Whose bus is that with the central air unit in front? Is that Rick Rubin?

The bus reminds me that most of the first Association album in 1966 (the green album) was tracked in a bus just like that. Only time I ever heard of doing that.

The problem of course, is that the 7 Association tracks actually sound like they were tracked in a bus. Which didn't help.

Does the lack of registration markings mean it's not an actual seafaring vessel?

What do you know I figured out the image thingy. This kind of digital ineptitude is why you'll only find tape machines in my studio

The Colourful Way (also known as The Land of Spare Oom) in my relatively small North Beach apartment in San Francisco

I had a feeling. The paint job is the kind of thing Somali pirates are bound to notice.

Your crib definitely looks cozy! Coffee bags as bass trap fabric is tres couture. I roast coffee for a living and half of my music room treatment is just rockwool stuffed into coffee bags.

On board reverb chamber! AKA, "Davy Jones' Locker". Deeeeep echoes. Very fluid. Precursor to Waves plugins. True "wet" sound.
