iZotope Spire Studio and unprocessed recordings

Can anyone with a Spire Studio tell me if it's possible to record the two mic preamps without any EQ or compression applied? I'd like to know if it's suitable for recording a stereo pair for classical music. This seems outside of its design goals, but possible given its hardware.

I have read some reviews of the unit say that the tracks sound auto EQ'd and compressed. (This could be wrong.) And then there's the new feature for SoundCheck which tries to figure out what instrument you're playing and "automatically applies a custom EQ curve to make your instrument sound its best". The iZotope site said if an instrument isn't chosen the "standard" curve is used. Does that mean flat?

Thanks in advance!
