whats this mic noise?

Hi, first ever post, apologies if its in the wrong place or format.

Can anyone tell me what might be causing this noise? Its an octavia condenser mic used as a drum overhead going into a warm audio pre amp. It happens intermittenly. I used a pair of mics and it appears on both in the same places.

Thanks for any help!

I can’t identify the noise. But if it happens on both channels at the same time, it isn’t a problem with either microphone. The mics are good.
So, if it is something common to both mics, it isn’t an individual mic, a mic cable, or a mic cable connection.
It could be a problem in the Warm. The 48v supply in the Warm could be popping. The AC power cord or plug could have some intermittent problem.
The interface might have some electrical or digital glitch.
You could try the same mics directly into the interface. If the problem still occurs, it’s an interface problem. If not, you’ve isolated it to the Warm.
Good luck!

Hey thanks a lot for the reply I'm going to look at the things you suggest. I haven't had the studio long and i'm starting to thing the electricity supply is pretty lively so it could be related.

Oh, actually, reminds me of what happens with a dirty power scheme and someone switches on an appliance in another room. Could be a light, a kettle, a TV.
