Building a 412 from salvaged Alnicos

Do any of you run any salvaged vintage Alnicos (Rola, Utah, CTS, etc) in a 212 or 412 Marshall setup successfully? I’m looking to fill a 2/4 speaker switchable (Carvin) cab beneath my Metro JTM 45 (w/master volume) with some old-school breakup on a budget. I also use a stock Fender Quad Reverb and a couple Gibson BR6 amps. I am not a metal player, I like blues, punk, rock, and find that old-school tones at lower volumes are the bees knees.
