Well, if we're discussing ridiculous clichés...

'Nul points' for gender stereotyping there.

I don't mix with emotion. Not sure what that means.

I mix to elicit emotion from the end listener by emphasizing the emotion in the tracks; making sure I do no harm to the emotion that is already there; be sure that it is delivered to the listener, and not lost or buried in a muddied, badly-balanced mix.

If there is no emotion in the tracks, forgetaboutit. Good luck.

This is just so easy.
It's obviously a digital vs analog issue.

You can't mix with emotion ITB. Cold, digital, looking at a screen, moving a mouse. Sucks all the feeling out of music.

You have to mix on a console to have any emotion. Preferably a pre-1980s Neve. And soffit mounted mains. And to a Studer a80.

Analog = emotion
Digital = No emotion

<end of line>

William Hung, the legendary American Idol contestant, would certainly disagree!

I found William Hung's own take on William Hung to be interesting. He's making a nice living now as a motivational speaker.

That's cool. I seem to remember his work, became law enforcement related.

I mix my tracks with plenty of emotion: frustration, anger, despair. You name it.

Quality is separate.

It just seems to me that people’s personality and spirit shows up in their work.

TLA’s mixes sound like his spirit and energy.

Same with Brauer, Schmitt, Blake, etc.

There are always exceptions of course, but overall, I’ve found that to be very consistent.

Exactly. My whole point. So many completely missed it.
