Talkbox recording mics

Ive been recording my rap vocals for about 15 years now and after many many condensor mics the bluebird worked well for my voice!! Now talkbox is way different, just about everyone who uses talkbox for roger n zapp style sawtooth recording is more than likely gonna sound the same !! So who has had exp with live mics vs condenser for recording i noticed that big studios seen to use good live mics is there a reason???
I have major trouble mixing my talkbox vocals cuz condenser mics are so sensitive! Would it be better to use a live mic? I do not own one but is that the reason why maybe i have to Eq and compress so much ? Would there be any diff or should i just stick with condenser for talkbox sawtooth recording????
