Roland Space Echo 501 and 555 - Is the 501 quieter because of thick tolex casing?

For anyone who's owned both can you shed any light?

I'm considering getting the 555 instead of the 501 but since they're noisy machines I'm wondering if the rack mount casing provides less noise insulation.

Maybe I'm overthinking it

Lives for gear

You might be over thinking it.
They're mechanical devices with motors and moving parts. All tape delays have noise associated to that.
