SSL Fusion vs Brainworx Master Desk

Seems the two can do quite similar things. I wonder if anyone who owns both could do a comparison. Or if they are simply not same level stuff cuz their price is absolutely not at the same level.

Or because one is HW and the other a plug in.

Have a listen to both in context.

With the Fusion I can hear the changes to all sections.

I know which one is fairy dust.

Cheers

I like the Isotope 8 much more than the Master desk. It has more bands of EQ to work with, more visual information, a lot more features to choose from including Dynamic EQ, limiters, compressors, and spacial effects.

So I wonder if a certain plugin chain can recreate what the fusion does.

Look at the individual components of the Fusion.

Vintage drive, Violet EQ, hf Comp, Stereo Image and Transformers.

Unfortunately you cant get the last one in a plug in.

It needs electricity.

Me, too but all in one packages are not the best you can get in digital world.
There are so many plugins around that easily beat every part of these packages in terms of sound quality and/or featureset.

Will definitely give the Fusion a try when it´s finally available in Europe...

My fusion is on the way. I think I will be able to answer that question myself.

Perhaps I didn't use Ozone right, I find the bx_masterdesk has a better stereo widening function.
