Microphone making noise after pops

My at 4050 works seemingly well with a pop filter, and I usually use one. However every mic I've had can handle pops without one( even though it sounds terrible).

When I sing into it directly the air causes it to make a sort of wind sound, with mild infrequent farting noises which all ends in a quiet high pitched squeal. After about 10 seconds of this the mic is fine and usable again(with a pop filter) or on guitar ect.

This also happens when I change polar patterns while it's on.

What could this be? Dirty capsule? Failing capsule? Anyone ever experience this?

Hopefully if I'm gentle this baby can last me a while...

I would guess that it's a cap in pre amp.

Is that an expensive fix? Or should I just leave it be? And hope the mic lasts a long time?
