Digital links between RME and Tascam

I am having trouble in linking up these two gear pieces together via digital/optical, perhape you can light up a solution for this issue.
The soundboard is a RME 802, which can recieve signal through ADAT2 port , aes/ebu etc, but toslink cable in.
The Tascam recorder i see that it can give out coaxial rca in /out:
s/pdif/cascade rca pin jack , and aes/ebu (balanced) xlr
If i want to monitor directly from the Tascam via digital, i should get a digital coverter from toslink to coaxial ? Is that the only way?

Thank you!

Lives for gear
You just don’t need an adaptor but a converter. About 10$ on Amazon. Just hooked up a tascam uh 7000 to id44.
