Here for the gear

As with any monitor controller, and anything in an audio path, less components = better. The goal with this box was not to be a monitor controller. It was to include many incredible features with a monitor section. The largest feature to me is the onboard D/A, which compared to the Lavry Black, is honestly quite comparable. The Lavry wins as it does against the Apogee and Benchmark, but if I was forced to work off the D/A in this unit, I wouldn't be complaining.

You cannot dislike what the unit sounds like. They covered that department without a stepped attenuator, which I was very impressed by. I didn't get to try the summing but I will take their word that it is as close as possible at sounding like the 2-Bus.

I had to make a decision recently and I am going with the ST. The "Monitor" is $4000 and is the ultimate playback IMO, but the ST has transparency that the bigboy doesn't.

This is going to be a popular unit.

Considering it's pricetag, I think the D-Box sounds more expensive, just not as big as the ST or Monitor.
