Brand new KRK's Popping Loudly Troubleshoot Help

Just got a pair of KRK Rokit 8's, upgraded from the 5's and very disappointed to find that they are popping like crazy. I have the exact same setup as the 5's except I'm using a different computer.

I'm sending sound from the computer to a Focusrite Scarlett 2i, which is connected to the speakers through two balanced XLR/1/4" cables.

The popping doesn't occur at low volume, only when I turn it up a bit.

Is the popping random? Or program-dependent?

Do you also hear it with your old speakers and/or headphones?

When you say new computer, does that mean...

... same DAW, same version? If yes, did you do a fresh install?

... same DAW, new version?

... different DAW?

Try backing off on any low subs.
Try a H.P.F around 60 hz.
