What's that guy cost? Is vintage King the only place to get them?

Thanks.

Those are sweeeeeet !!!! Natural sounding preamp, the best 10k around, nice mid, tight bass.

Be aware of a couple of things though;
The micpre gain is in 10db steps, which could be a drag when tracking straight to protools. I noticed that Vintage Kings rack has an output attenuator which is good.
The output is very weak, so its a good idea to track with a compressor or a desk.
The headroom in the preamp is not very dynamic. So prepare for some nice "compression" there.

I´ve used ém on drum overheads and vocals. Awesome is good word to describe the feeling I got the first time......

Thats what My 4 vintage ones look kinda like,

I need to get output trims (like in the photo) put on mine...(true what was said above about gain trims, I have that problem now)

V usefull!

GREAT for the 3 mic drum technique

vocals

And anything you want to sound "1970's"

I am a Rolling Stones nut, that's why I bought mine.

So if doing something 'retro-esque' (which is not that often really) I often just do it ALL using those pre's on EVERYTHING. Kind of like slapping all the audio round the head with a big Rolling Stones / who / Zepplin stick!

Mine get their most active dutie on Tom's & overheads and in that role don't sound 'retro' - they just sound - GOOD. (better than the Neve 1073, API, Focusrite pre's I also have)
