Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! Music Santa brought me a new red turntable, O2m (blue) cart, and some tasty vinyl cuts to spin it on.

Not got it yet but hopefully will be getting a Roland D50 on Friday, always wanted one as I had a D20 a long time ago but I was always wishing it could do more sound wise. I keep reading this thing is a blast especially when that chorus is switched it...

Well I got my D-50 and I'm blown away how good this thing is and it's in really good shape. I might even treat it to a new back light at some point. Thanks Santa...

No reindeer skat fell onto the snow covered roof at my house. Santa seems to have lost my address many years ago.

While shopping for gifts for others I selfishly also bought something for myself, a factory refurbished FocusRite RedNet 6 MADI/Dante bridge.

Back in the spring, Topanga Santa (a GS member, I forget his screen name) gave me the guts of an early-60's RCA film dubber that had 7 huge transformers in it. (3) JM Magnetics AT-4 tape head transformers, (3) UTC H-25 iso's, and a UTC H-23 optical head transformer with a 30K input.

I had tested them and drawn up circuits and so forth, but hadn't gone further because heavy gauge metal boxes big enough to hold these guys was going to cost quite a bit, with jacks and XLR's and switches and pots on top of that. But then I saw a post by @Sigma with a photo of an old Sigma Sound DI box, and problem solved! For a first test-run, I asked Real Santa for a cheap $15 DI, yanked out the weensty little transformer and Frankensteined on the H-23.

So thank you Topanga Santa, Real Santa, and Mike Santa. Also, note furry helper in the first photo and weentsy transformer in the second.
