UA 6176 vs 1176

I was just wondering if the Compressor in the 6176 is the same as the UA 1176.

Very similar. The biggest difference is that the 6176's 1176 compressor uses modern capacitor and resitor components which improves noise floor, stability and longevity. The 6176 does not have the same input transformer either. However they sould virtually the same, with the same FET gain reduction, transistor amplifiers and custom Putnam output transformer.
