Audio File formats - not .aif / .wav

We all use .aiff / .wav / .MP3 almost everyday, but what of the dozens of other formats? What are some of the uses you have found for: .vox / .ivc / .au / .ogg / .raw / .pca / .w64 / .wma / .wmv ?? (these are all available formats in Sound Forge)

I seem to remember using the .vox for a telephone promt system that specified that format - once - like 10 years ago.

.raw is usually a photographic file format, like their 'lossless'
.wmv are lossy windows video files

Right - but are there any practicle uses for these formats or are they just there because they used to be used?
