josephson c42 to match or not

So I'm going to get a pair of c42's to use for drum overheads. The matched pair is 100 bucks more than 2 single mics. I don't care about the case. Does anybody think that there is enough variance for me to spend the extra dough. Thanks

For a 100 bucks I'd get the matched pair.

unless you are gonna be recording classical music, i'd say no...

i'm not sure it particularly matters. I have a pair of the c42's that I didn't get as a matched pair but atlas was nice enough to send two with consecutive serial numbers and i've had no problems using them for classical stereo recording. and i really hope that any company worth anything doesn't have discrepancies between production mics large enough to really screw of up use in pairs. that may be wishful thinking but in this case i've had no problems.
on the other hand, if you can afford the extra $100 you might as well cause it certainly couldn't hurt.

Yeah, except in the pocket book. You could get another 57 for that extra dough.
