Multi-Patch through patchbay?

Hey y'all, I'm building my home studio and I am deciding on the signal chain of my recording gear. Have a Tascam M2600 (24 ch. Mixer), dbx 48 point patchbay (TRS), digi 002, and a digimax fs, (16 ins to pt le). I initially wanted to run all the mics to a patchbay and normal them to pt inputs, and simultaneously patch them to mixer for monitoring purposes (no latency, and more routing flexibility). I was told there could be a problem with this, it might degrade the qaulity of the signal being split to either location. Is this true or is this a somewhat common set up?

I have been running everything into my mixer, then direct out to pro tools and I haven't noticed any degradation in qaulity. But I know shortening the signal chain is considered best so I thought I could get the best of both worlds with this patchbay setup. Also, unfornatley the direct and group outs of the M2600 are RCA (unbalanced) so I would be bypassing this. ANY feedback?
