amp help!

amp help!

hello i am buying a sovtek mig 60 today. these amps have a 4 or 8 ohm speaker connections, but my problem is that i only have 16 ohm cabs. from my understanding this will only cut the power in half, or is this worng/bad ideah? anyways please respond back to me before i blow it up

A 50% impedence mismatch (8ohm vs 16ohm) won't kill the Sovtek. Its not perfect, but it'll work.

If you intend to use it for any length of time, I'd rewire one of your 16ohm cabinets as 4ohm and go that route.

BTW, the Mig 60 is a GREAT AMP!!!
