Any insides on TC electronics?

Does anyone of you know if something is happening to our "local" company TC electronic?

At the Frankfurt Messe, there was a very hardlived rumor that they were getting sold/taken over.

The strange (and slightly scary) thing is that one of the "in the know" people I talked to described it as "A destiny worse than Harman".

Hard to imagine anything worse that that...

What could this possibly be about?

It's been up for sale for some time... perhaps they found a buyer?

Who knows... Would be kind of cool if Yamaha bought them. The Japanese usually respect the strengths and identity of a foreign company they take over. Contrary to American Multis. Worst thing that could happen is Gibson

Except for when they don't; Yamaha bought a small Japanese corp called Hyfax which made excellent flying mic rigging systems with motors, pulleys and all but since they got bought out they just disappeared.

Interesting news to come from TC soon, I hope.

If Deadringer can buy Midas then sure they can buy TC, why not.

...NOOOO!!!

sure fire death knell if that were to be the case.

Yamaha would be a good company to continue their legacy. Hopefully integrate some of their IP into Cubase...

As I'm not a native speaker I had to look this up in the dictionary. Brilliant!

Behringer/Music Group would make sense. TC makes some very good converters and outstanding DSP algorithms. Both would be an asset to Behringer/Midas's digital consoles.

As a user of TC products, I'm just hoping for continued support of my investment, but I'm not optimistic.

Well Behridas would definitely be a disaster for TC. It took them four years to turn Midas into a cheap MI Company. Now they have experience and would go a lot quicker!

I'm guessing music group, the amount of money they must have made on the x32 series and the rapid growth in Midas sales must have made them a fair few pounds and are probably looking to expand their portfolio even more. And with what they have done with MKT I think they would be a good choice.

rest of tc group?

the signs for that were there since powercore had been ceased.

apart from disappointment to have set on the wrong horse with powercore,
what makes me worry more is what that means for dynaudio pro?

Dynaudio was already acquired by a company called Goer Tek Inc in Oct 2014.

Looks like MG acquisition of TC has been finalised, should work well alongside their other professional brands.

This is actually great news.
Behringer has the infrastructure and now they have the knowledge to deliver better quality to the masses.

I don´t doubt they could deliver a TC 2290 or TC 4000 at prices where it doesn´t make sense to buy the plugins.

and they will break down even before the plugins will need an update.

I was thinking of buying a Flashback and a Hall of Fame pedal.
Better be quick.

My Powercore 6000 just became vintage Digital!

Times are a changin'

I heard some really fantastic material recently, I mean flipping knock out sound quality.

I asked which studio and mastering engineer had been involved.

The guys said none, it was all done on an Apple laptop!!!

I have heard that Behringer is upping their game in a big way, in terms of quality, and that the journey is only partially complete.

I certainly hope so. TC Electronics has been responsible for some of the best algo's I have ever worked with, and all of their finalizing and mastering boxes are brilliant for the most part. Each and every unit I have ever worked with has been nearly flawless, which is why I currently own three of them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more, either. Built like tanks and sound incredible. I hope that Behringer can keep that legacy strong. Some of those algo's should have been in ultra-high end consoles by now, if they are not.

I hope it works out. I do not know what I could replace some of those boxes with, especially certain specific modules programmed into, say, a Finalizer 96k. They add a brilliant final touch to everything I work on.

If other companies can release products at 500$ which sound great and work stable do you really think Behringer couldn´t release the TC 2290 and TC 4000 algos for the same price in one box ?

Some think the old V-Verb might have been a little "too" inspired by the TC rack verbs... and that was a popular unit...

I have had a few behringer. The sound from them are quite good for the price. But the build quality have been anything but good. Out of four pedals only one have survived. And they have only been sitting on the floor on a home setup. Too bad that it is not a company with software products. Some of the TC classics would have been great plugins. And they did some reverb plugins that was good.

Mine isn't either, They promise things that they don't do, the gear falls over regularly and their service is not professional.
