Your all time top 5 (guitar amps)

Fender Deluxe Reverb
Fender Twin AB763 Reverb
TNT (Canned Heat amps)
Basson Sound BG1
Marshall Super Lead 100
Fender Champ

Marshal Major for extra credit. I've owned or used all of those amps. Wish I still had my 1968 Canned Heat TNT. The Basson BG1 was designed with the TNT in mind. My TNT was the small one, 125 watts. I did play the 550 watters, too loud!

List of 5 studio amps for a studio which has no genre focus?

AC30 -- My favorite amp. DC30 if this list looks too old school to you.
Black Face Super Reverb or Twin Reverb -- For cleaner to edge of breakup tones
5E3 - A great lower Watt all-rounder
A 50W Marshall of sorts -- I'd lean towards a 60s or 70s NMV but many people love amps such as the JCM800 2204 for 80s Rawk and beyond.
And some kind of more modern higher gain switcher (eg Soldano, Diezel, Mesa)

And a few extra cabs with different speakers can really help multiply the available amp tones.

Pearce G2r
Peavey JS
Mesa Lone Star
Peavey 5150
Fender Princeton (68)

I like a lot of others, including Marshalls. But these seemed the most versatile, and I got great tones out of them. I know, "Princeton? Versatile?" I can't help it; that and a weird little Vox distortion box were golden for a couple of years.

13-year old thread. Kudos to all.

I note that almost all posts contain an AC-30 as one of the choices.

As suggested above, I will list 5 that I own:

Handwired AC-30

Ampeg V-4 / VT-22

'75 Marshall short-chassis 50-watt JMP

'55 Tweed Tremelux

'63 Brown Vibrolux

5 eh? Well I own a Marshall DSL100 and cab + a Vox AC15. Maybe a dual or triple rectifier. Either that or 3 more small combos. Fender tweed, something from Orange for sure. Maybe a Laney. As long as it’s tube and sounds good I’m not too picky lol

What if it's NOT tube but still sounds good?

Doesn’t have to be tube to sound good. I just prefer tubes is all. Just a personal preference.

My No. 1 amp is a Bad Cat Black Cat (current version). Don't really find myself wanting any other amp at this time although I've got four or five others waiting around if needed.

I do have a Cream, a Ruby and a Creamback for speakers. I've also got the Suhr Reactive Load IR loaded up with different impulses but generally only use the Celestion Blue impulses. When I'm playing I love the Blue IRs or the Cream. But, on playback, the Ruby sort of has a level of harmonic complexity that the others lack.
