zebra pickup orientation

I bought Gibson zebra humbuckers (500T and 496R) for a Les Paul. The 4-conductor cable exits the at the lower side of the black face coil on both pickups, and the black face coil is nearest to the bridge on both pickups. In other words, they look identical. [blk/wht] [blk/wht]. They are not a mirror image.

The problem is that I want to install them so that the white face coil of the bridge pick up is closest to the bridge, while the white face coil of the neck pickup is closest to the neck, or mirror imaged [wht/blk] [blk/wht].

Can I simply install the bridge pickup upside down so that the bridge pickup cable exits at the top of the guitar cavity (farther from the controls), while the neck pickup exits at the bottom of its cavity toward the controls)?

if yes, do I also need to wire the bridge pickup backward (blk is hot instead of red), or?
