Just FYI for those enjoying this new guitar post thread. There is a huge pedalboard thread called "show me your pedalboard" really great guitar porn to drool over or just show where you are at the moment.

I'm a Guitaraholic and a true Gearslut

Yeah I really need some intervention...this will show about half the guitars. Rest are in cases and other rooms. I can't put them all out at once.

If you want to see them one at a time go to photobucket under goldbonder....enjoy

You either need a psychiatrist or a good investment advisor. Personally, I'd go for the investment advisor.

Yeah probably right but this is probably cheaper than either of your suggestions and makes me happy for possibly the short time I have left above ground. I think this is better therapy than a shrink and I can rattle off a bunch of times financial advisors have sent my friends down the path of finacial ruin. Both of your suggestions can result in empty pockets with nothing to show for it. At least my family will have a great yard sale some day.

Oh come on,
that is as bad as Jerry Seinfeld collects Porsche's and Jay Leno has over 400 cars and motorcycles.

I would be peeing myself if I could afford that many strings.

Wouldn't like a dozen high end guitars make due?

I have 3 electrics and 1 acoustic and consider myself so lucky.

Sorry, I didnt want to come off like all of the gear pimps that populate GS.

Its a bridge system Ive been endorsing for a while, its called EverTune.

EverTune
Insane Rock Guitar - The Evertune Bridge - YouTube

its a spring and lever system that maintains constant string tension [pitch] at all times regardless of temp changes, over fretting, or string wear.

truly revolutionary.

all the best,
Sean

Come on players, no one wants to show pictures of their kids???
The pedalboard thread just goes and goes, some real gear porn there for sure.

Some of you guys must have some axe jewels out there that give us lottery envy.

I have to confess the guys collection above put most of us in a state of shock.

How does one even maintain the strings, or clean up on all those??

Is that what Jay Leno's or Seinfeld's car garage looks like?

Oh yeah bridge tuning guy, very cool, I dig that bridge system. Check out that video, interesting. More clips on the side menu that really get into it.

I've come to the conclusion that the guitar in all its infinite variations is a marvelous invention. Can any instrument created for music be as entertaining and downright enjoyable? OK, besides the kazoo.

How in the world do they make those true note fret guitars???
Those necks blow my mind. It thought fret wire was straight and cut into lengths and fitted into a slot, how do they make those odd shapes and fit them, seems ungodly difficult. I wonder if we will ever see the correction factors applied to guitars as a normal desired build.

Earlier I had changed out my bridge pickup to a standard single coil. After running it through the paces I decided the dual rail pickup I had in the guitar just delivered the tone better and zero noise.

This is my custom cut three single coil Carvin DC135, all mahogany neck and body. 24 fret neck through the body, stainless frets. Sperzel locking tuners and birdseye maple fingerboard. Love the Carvin builds even their kits come out great. I made my ebony neck Strat from their kit and it is just a tone monster. You can pay a lot more and get a lot less.

These dual rail Carvins have an impedance greater than some lower powered full size HBs much less all the cool tones of the single coil mag field with no noise but a ton of cut through power and makes pedals sing.

Always wanted a LP but the price tag these days is way too high and little in they way of features since 50 years ago. One reason I love my custom builds so much is the price is just so affordable and the quality superb. I cringe thinking about dropping 3-5K on a LP. The name is pretty much half the cost of the guitar. Not sure its worth it as I can get 2 or 3 custom builds for that.

Anyone see that interesting episode of the Pawn Stars where the Nephew of Mary Ford brought in her guitar that Les had worked on for her? A 3 pickup SG model, I had never seen such a SG w three pickups, Les had removed the metal pickup covers and it looked like 3 full size HB dual coils. He also had a stack of signed papers and contracts Les had done with Gibson about the development of the LP model. At one point he was considering dropping Gibson as he was not liking the final model. Killer pieces of history, he sold them for $90K, probably could have gotten a lot more in a auction of Les Paul collectors.

Some of the selections. The walnut P-Bass I built from scratch binding and all. The blue Strat is a parts-caster assembled about two months ago. The white Strat is an 88 MIJ. It has some overwounds from a friend who does that sorta thing....very 'Stratty'. The black one has an early Gilmore plate. I bought the Ibanez late last year. Really like it in the studio. I put a set of Duncan's I have had for about 30 years on it. JB in the bridge and a Jazz in front.
