I Need to build the best Tube Guitar Overdrive/Distortion

Hi people!
I would like to build a Tube Guitar Overdrive/Distortion from the best possible available components and schematic. Money is not important, quality is the case!
The sound is a la Satriani – Vai and - Metal.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

It's really not that simple. You can get a great sounding overdrive from carefully building a BYOC Tubescreamer kit, with all the optional mods. If you do it well, it should stand up to the $500 Landgraff BUT it's gonna sound more or less like a Tubescreamer. You can build pedals based on the Rat, the Red Llama, the Marshall Bluesdriver or Guvnor, an Electra etc. They all have uses and can all sound similar although the extremes of performance are different. You have to try stuff out and get the sound you want.

If you mean actual tubes, there are a couple of designs on the internet, do a search... None are acknowledged by everyone as the best tube pedal ever, or there wouldn't be a bunch of different ones. Given the complexity of high voltage wiring, guys like Kingsley build pedals that aren't generally copied by the DIY public...

Thank you drbob1!
A good answer. Now I have smth to start from.

I like the tone of BK Butler Tube Driver RT****3 Rack it’s good for solo. So, I’m looking smth of this kind.
For rhythm I’d like to find smth brutal.

Lots of places to get started. Perhaps begin by examining Doug Hoffman's design and modify to taste.
