Rusty Anderson Kicks My Arse!

One of my favorite all time lead breaks is
the guitar part to Maybe I'm Amazed.

Sounds simple, but timing is everything.

Just barely starting to get the hang of it here with my '85 Les Paul and the Hot
Cat 100R

Here's the video from McCartney Live At Red Square, done right.

I may never be as good as Rusty, but I sure love the way he plays.

Lives for gear
Nice. I grew up with the Denny Laine solo version, which to me sounds a little crisper and nastier - it's the live one they played on the radio constantly. Nothing against Rusty - he and Brian Ray (guy playing bass who plays guitar when Paul is playing bass) are supremely talented players. They kicked butt on SNL last month.

Nice work on copping the feel and tone of the solo.

I tried earlier with my Ibanez and do like some of those tones there too
even though the guitar decided to be ornery feeding back with an ever so delightful fret buzz.

This clip is lower volume and lower gain, but the room is just too small
for the high efficiency cab.

I'm sure after hearing me play, the real guitars players
are all thinking Live and Let Die! :-)

Since I started out on Alto Sax, then Bass, now at age 57
I'm still in the discovery stage every time I pick up a guitar.

The Ibanez hasn't ever been to a tech and now apparently could
use a few minor adjustments to find and tame that fret buzz.

The Les Paul's Shaw PAFs are fine by me.

You can hear the Weber AlNiCo's soft lower end when I push the lows
along with the camera mic freeking out, 8 feet from the amp.

Trying to decide between another Fane AXA12 or a Medusa 150C next.

Could you imagine playing a song like that in front of a crowd like that? I would have some sort of plumbing malfunction I think, requring a quick run backstage before the next number.

I saw them live at Fed Ex Field, spot on!

What a show!

I saw the original Wings too back in the Capitol Center Days.

Witnessing Greatness is the only way I can describe it.
