Aggressive Guitar Processing

I've tracked a JCM900 and Orange AD140 through an Orange 4x10, miked w/ a 122v & 57.

The gain and volume are cranked to 10, and being that it's for a punk record, I was wondering if anyone has processing tips.

Yeah, turn the gain and volume down.

Don't know what you're using for recording but...

EQ - tuck in the corners with a high pass filter at 40Hz and a low pass at 12Khz or so for starters to get rid of sonic muck that doesn't matter. If you have more controls, you may want to scoop the mids a bit to see how it sits in the mix.

Compressor - compress the heck out of it so that you can get the in your face sound.

Little to no reverb.

Try panning the 2 different mics to left and right, put bass, kick and snare in the middle with vocals. Or put guitars right, bass left, and vocals in the middle.

Tweak things from there.

Good luck.
