Running 2 amps simultaneously - Dry/FX

Anyone run two amps simultaneously - one dry, the other for FX? I'm thinking of splitting my signal to feed my AC30 with a clean signal, and then feeding my effected dirty signal to my Bad Cat.

The only effect I've done that with is delay. I've always liked running dissimilar amps. One way to add significant punch to a heavily-clipped amp is to run another clean one alongside it. Any small amp will do. You can get some massive sounds that way. A little delay, or a stereo chorus between the two can make some really kaleidoscopic sounds.

I'm running three amps for a track I'm working on now...........

'79 Carvin VT112 set up kind of dirty with a short delay in front of it.

Peavey C30 on the clean channel with a Maxon SD-9 in front.

Fender Pro Jr. on 7.

Mutiple small amps offer a massive tonal palette.
