Impedance and loop switchers?

Impedance and loop switchers?

So I’m looking at picking up a boss es8 primarily to gain midi control and to move most everything back onto the board. The problem is I like to run stereo time based fx in the loop. I’d like to take a mono instrument level send from loop 7 > preamp > line level and split to stereo > stereo fx > loop 7 return into switcher.

I don’t know how it will react to a line level signal coming back in though. Will it pass line level to loop 8 (what I want) and then line level to stereo outs? I read through the manual and it seems they expect you to put your fx loop in the volume insert which is a mono return.

Anyone have any experience with this? Tried emailing Roland but apparently you can’t even submit an email on a holiday.
