S-Gear or...

Anyone out there using Scuffham Amps S-Gear and Amplitube?
I'm mainly interested in vintage sounds.
My main guitar set up (in the real world) involves Telecasters, a Casino, vintage blackface Fender Tremolux, a Roland RE 301 Space Echo and a few Strymon pedals.
I've just downloaded the 15 day S-Gear trial and plan to give it a whirl over the weekend.
(I know this will be a compromise because nothing can replace my set-up - just looking for an alternative for situations when I can't crank my amp etc.)
Thanks in advance, Joe.

Here for the gear

Its a bit expensive, but if you like the Bassman sound, Bassdude by Brainworx is ridiculously good. I have an actual Bassman from that era and it sounds just like that. Good thing with that amp is it is pretty transparent in terms of bringing out a guitars unique tones rather than pushing a certain sound on you.

The brainworx amps are excellent.

Note that having a good reverb plug is crucial for vintage tones.

I've now tried both S-Gear and Amplitube and to my ear Scuffham S-Gear is way more usable and feels better when playing.

If you use the IRs from Celestion both sims will sound better. I always ended up using the Orange AD30 in Amplitube and my own effects in front and delay plugins after. It’s the only one I like and versatile. SGear is just harder to dial in but can sound good too.

Give it a couple or few weeks (or months) to get the "new" out of your head, THEN tell us what you think.

It's never gonna replace my real world set up for tone feel etc. but it's a great tool for doodling
