Guitar : VOX MV50 or Zoom type Multi

Hi Everyone,

First, my background. I have played "semi-professionally" on stringed instruments for 20 or so years, but not the guitar. Mostly in eastern European circles.

I'd like to just fiddle with playing the guitar. Am I better off getting something like a VOX MV50 or something like a ZOOM multi effects peddle. The tone that I REALLY love is the Black Crowes type sound, but again, this is just for fun on the side. I am flexible.

Unless you really need the effects, a real amp is probably better.

The problem with the MV50 is that you need a cabinet - a combo amp is a better deal (like the AV series).

For what those digital things plus a speaker cabinet cost, you could get a nice combo like the Vox AC41-12.
Tube amp with a 12" speaker.

That would be a much nicer start, in my eyes.
