Someone made a good point about the wattage of those greenbacks. those 12t-75s must have been used in response to blown speakers. I recall when zepp toured in 1975, page had a single 4x12 for each of his 5 100 watt marshall heads. I think a 100 watt marshall can emit bursts of like 160 watts, so earlier speakers didn't have the power capacity for 40 watts each. Wires burn, adhesives melt, spiders breaking free...

I recall marshall shipped amps with 6550 rather than el34 at times in the 70/80s due to higher failure rate of the less delicate el34s. Creating a mini-industry of changing the resistors so that the amps could be retrofitted with el34s. Point being, they made manufacturing decisions based on reliability needs--and who can really fault them for that?

The speakers that went into cabs didn't need to have any special look, but I think the later greenback series was made by celestion to simulate the tone of the earlier, less powerful, speaks, and when selling as components, it was important that a greenback be green...

At various times I had a 75 Marshall lead/bass combo ( model 2100?) and a 76 2204 combo, and both of them had G12Ms in them.
