the moog mf trem has nice tonal options, i find that it can get very subtle and warm, as well as intense and weird. simple design, not quite as intense as the others mentioned but does a great job.

It is, but you can actually use it as a tremolo as well (by assigning the ramp function to the volume), but not a very flexible one. They make a tremolo pedal as well, the gravitas, mentioned earlier, which seems like one of the most flexible analog tremolos I've ever seen.
For my tremolo needs, I get by with a simple t-rex tremster. Although it will probably be replaced by the moogerfooger ringmod, I really love the tremolo effects you can get from it.
