There's NO right or wrong.

I love tube amps but I play my acoustic guitar through a very clean, studio quality chain that's all (very good) solid state electronics, into a fairly high-end center channel speaker from an expensive home theater system.
However, I don't consider the sound to be really hi-fi because the pickup is a magnetic sound hole pickup, albeit with a built-in miniature condenser mic, which does help the tone to be more natural. But still, the magnetic pickup tone is pretty obvious.
I'd really like to get one of the DPA 4099G miniature condenser mic systems for acoustic guitar but they're over $600. That would give a pretty clean, accurate acoustic tone. Unfortunately I don't think that would work for you, as the solid body of the Strat doesn't radiate enough sound.
OTOH, if I wanted to emphasize the magnetic pickup tones for more of an electric feel I'd use a proper tube amp.
