Lives for gear
Gilmour and Mason are the main shareholders in the family of companies that make up the Pink Floyd group. There are a couple of legacy companies owned by Waters, Gilmour and Mason and all three are still directors of those companies. Waters walked away from PF and allegedly wanted nothing more to do with the brand. He was paid a great deal of money for that and granted the rights to The Wall and The Final Cut.

After that break, Gilmour and Mason (with minority holdings by Wright) owned the rights (via Pink Floyd 1987 Ltd.) to the PF brand, so when Waters says "David acts as if he owns Pink Floyd, well, actually he does (albeit together with Mason).

There was a time when all this was interesting. That was a long time ago!
