For Rock, an SM57 on top and a 421 underneath. But the overhead and/or room mics are the key.
A dear departed friend suggested using two 414s (one under the snare and one on the far side of the hi-hat) for jazz and other light open playing); I never had the chance to try it, but it sounds like an interesting idea.
Demo'd the Telefunken M80 a few years ago and it didn't impress.
A bit OT, but a Shure KSM32 is great for capturing nuanced ride cymbal work; its slightly smaller diaphragm apparently help with transient response, but it has more richness and depth than a full-on SDC.
