Thanks for the info Chips,

I have no experience measuring and speccing xlr jacks. Not that I don't think I'm capable, but I've never done it.

This would involve both physical measurements with a ruler to make sure it fits as well as electrical measurements with a multimeter, correct?

I'm definitely leaning toward replacing the whole part, it looks pretty old inside. And its probable the least robust part of the mic.
