I've found that glucosamine is good a couple different types of muscle pain. Some people take it as a daily supplement. I just do it when I feel some kind of a strain. It's not always useful.

Otherwise, I don't have much of a suggestion. I've been to an orthopedist twice. Once they said I shouldn't use my sprained finger until it heals, and the other time they just shrugged their shoulders and said they didn't know why I was in pain. It's been ibuprofin, tylenol, and sometimes glucosamine since then.
