Che, do you have special techniques for recording Sousaphone along with other horns?

As a native NOLA recordist I've often had to record sousaphone along with other horns (sax, trumpet, trombone) live either all in the room or with minimal separation. In working with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band did you devise any techniques to deal with bleed between the horns? Did you compress the Sousa to get pump as tracking or did you dial it in mostly during the mix? Was the Sousa isolated away from the others enough to where you didn't need to worry about bleed in both directions as in too much Sousa bleed on the other horns and also too much trumpet / trombone on a compressed mic Sousa track?
