I am wondering if you are dealing with two different scenarios happening at the same time. The unit did the update to the bios but there was a problem with the power supply or something in the unit died... They would, on the surface, seem to be the same thing but they may just have happened at the same time. I had on of these units for about 3 years and was very happy with it. I used it to do on location interviews and it always worked flawlessly but I never updated the bios. Most companies are more that willing to do anything they can to help the consumer. I am surprised Marantz is not more willing to help you. Best of luck!
