Variable Low Cut, Cut Only, and EQ Bypass Mode
Switchable 6 or 12 dB Filters
LED Faders and LED Bar VU Meters

Samson's S-Curve 231 is a 1/3 octave dual 31 band graphic equalizer which is extremely well built and housed in solid construction. The faders offer precision and accuracy whether boosting or cutting the frequency. As with any graphic equalizer, its recommended to maintain a curve next to adjacent faders. One nice feature is that the low cut filter is adjustable by dialing in the desired frequency.

Not many other graphic equalizers in this price range offer LED VU meters to keep an eye on the output. Additionally, each fader (62 in total) house green colored LEDS which make the faders easy to find in live low light applications. Of course this all adds a coolness factor in of itself. There is a bypass mode to easily A/B the signals. What's interesting however, is you can also bypass the unit while it is powered off. The cut only mode is useful in preserving the integrity of the signal and is recommended while mastering.

There are plenty of options for inputs and outputs, with the choice of either balanced XLR and balanced TRS. With the options of either 6 dB or 12 dB of gain, you can accurately cut or boost any frequency.

You would be well served utilizing the S-Curve 231 in either a live or studio setting. I highly recommend the Samson S-Curve 231 and give it 4 out of 5 stars.
