Joemeek C2 by louparte
I've had the C2 for several years. Somewhere along the line, it started being noisy. Or maybe it always was noisy and I never noticed.
I like the sound of the C2. The JoeMeek sound fits my music. But this unit is not transparent. It will color your sound. And maybe that will fit your music. Maybe it won't. For my music - the JoeMeek sound is a beautiful fit.
This is also very easy to use. That's a plus. The controls on the front are
(from left-to-right), INPUT GAIN (for the pre-amp), Compressor On/Off button, ATTACK, RELEASE & OUPUT.
There also are two VU meters, one measuring gain reduction and one for input.
How easy can it get? The back side of the C2 is even easier, two inputs, two outputs, and a wall-wart plug.
I have a VC3 that is not so noisy and I love it. I also have an FMR RNLA also. Comparing this with the RNLA, the C2 comes out on top every time for my mixes. But it's too bad it makes too much noise. I'd like to find a quiet one.
Be careful mixing with this one. It can really squish & bend the sound.
But if you like the Meek sound - it's a real bargain.
